Summary/Abstract: The model of the “Great Republic” does not live exclusively in the utopian mentality. Political movements, for instance, have already attempted its implementation in a particular region of the world, and whilst they may have failed, this was due to the intervention of external forces. Of course the external provenance of its dissolution does not offer proof of the viability of the model, for one can still argue in a sceptical, but not entirely unfounded spirit that, had the attempt to establish the Great Republic not been crashed by force (and here we refer to Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and much earlier Austria), the project would have eventually dissolved as a result of endogenous factors. However, such considerations are irrelevant, for I have not stated that the model of the Great Republic is not utopian.
