Summary/Abstract: The article presents a reconstruction of a short treatment which Gabriela Zapolska underwent in 1906 in a psychoanalytical clinic founded in Bystra, Poland by doctor Ludwik Jekels, a friend and translator of Sigmund Freud. It was the first such clinic in Poland and one of the first in the world. The Zapolska case bears certain resemblance to the story of the famous Emma Eckstein's therapy. Both women were not only patients but also victims of the pioneer stage in the development of psychoanalysis.
