Aspects of the relative chronology of the late Tripolje sites in the Prut-Dnister interfluve in the light of new funerary finds in the Republic of Mo

Summary/Abstract: In the final phases of its evolution, Cucuteni–Tripolye culture divides into a few relatively separate structural units, situated in the forest-steppe and, partially, in the steppe zone between the eastern Carpathians and Dnepr basin. At the same time, the emergence and development of the extramural funerary rite – absent in the early and middle phases of the culture's evolution – occur. However, the character and the essence of the interconnections between different local groups should be revised and redefined, considering that decades have passed since the publication of the last thorough studies. Based on several new funerary finds from the Republic of Moldova, this article presents and analyzes a few aspects of the relative chronology of the Late Tripolye sites in the Prut-Dniester interfluve. We also argue in favor of the necessity of carrying out new research into this matter. Rezumat: În fazele finale ale evoluţiei sale, cultura Cucuteni–Tripolie se împarte într-un şir de unităţi structurale relativ de sine stătătoare, amplasate în silvostepa şi, parţial, stepa dintre extremităţile estice ale Carpaţilor şi bazinul Niprului. Concomitent, are loc apariţia şi dezvoltarea ritului extramural de înmormântare, necunoscut în fazele timpurie şi mijlocie ale culturii. Caracterul şi esenţa relaţiilor dintre diferitele grupuri locale urmează, însă, a fi revizuite şi poate chiar redefinite, având în vedere, că din momentul publicării ultimelor sinteze au trecut deja decenii. În acest articol, în baza câtorva noi descoperiri funerare din Republica Moldova, sunt prezentate mai multe aspecte ale cronologiei relative a siturilor Tripoliene târzii din spaţiul pruto-nistrean şi este argumentată necesitatea efectuării unor noi cercetări de teren în domeniu.
