Summary/Abstract: The present article describes some semantic features of appositional expressions. First I comment on criteria of distinguishing this class of lexemes (see Dobaczewski 1998). The analysis shows that lexical units, traditionally described as negative markers, e.g. {gdzie, skąd}, may be perceived as particles – they comment on the rheme of a sentence (which may be given in the left-hand context). Next, I compare those expressions with some other expressions (e.g., {zaraz, od razu, jak, akurat}) which can be used in the same negative role. My conclusion is that these lexical units do not express the speaker’s conviction that the judgement currently referred to is false.
