Units Expressing the Choice of a Right Word

Summary/Abstract: In this paper I describe the semantic features of Polish expressions like {właściwie, w zasadzie, praktycznie, generalnie, jakby, jak gdyby}. Analyzed units imply the speaker’s knowledge (contrary to the words like {chyba, pewnie, najprowdopodobniej}), but they don’t imply the veracity of the proposition (contrary to the units like {rzeczywiście, oczywiście, naprawdę}). Finally I propose the general scheme of the semantic representation of the analyzed expressions.
