Summary/Abstract: Mise-en-scene- to stage/transform something on stage is examined empirically as a semiotic construction and radical subject of knowledge. Rationalized is the theatrical presentation as a system, configured by separate sign sub-systems with the help of the dualistic function of the actor, in the process of sign production (actor s discourse) and the semiotic presentation of its reflexes regardingthe performance (stageperformance). Underlined is the role of the cultural archetypes on the individual artistic activities and perception. Discussed is the aesthetic of mise-en-scene based on cultural experience, rooted in the personal conscious/subconscious of the artist and the spectator. Conclusion: a) the archetypal reflection of mise-en-scene harmonizes the individual and the collective conscious/subconscious as a complex of complementing perspectives of an optimal sign semiosis, stressing the essence of the theatrical performance as a process of communication and representation; b) mise-en-scene is the logical semiotic perspective of the theatrical performance which unites the sign structures of the different systems and regulates the interrelations between physical and verbal actions of the actors, the sound and material atmosphere of the stage, the language, intellectual and psychological reflection regarding world experience, the communication reality sender/recipient or actor/spectator, the cognitive mechanism of interaction between visual stage presentation and the perception reaction of the audience.
