Summary/Abstract: The representatives of the so-called ‘Târgovişte School’ (the Târgovişte trend , unaware at the time they conceived their work of the enormous impact this would later have, are considered the predecessors of the Romanian postmodernism. Authors of a type of drawer literature, Radu Petrescu, Mircea Horia Simionescu and Costache Olǎreanu imposed the features, the modality and the rhythm of the new movement without any intention of directing or teaching. A global trend, postmodernism meets in their work one of its richest and intriguing embodiments. Hard to label, these writers’ books offer a rewarding voyage inside the mechanisms propelling postmodernism, but also an original sample of authenticity in the struggle to regain identity, in the battle against globalization.
