Summary/Abstract: This work aims at presenting a valuable tradition of the Romanian education namely the cultural societies and the pupils’ publications by illustrating two concrete examples: the I. L. Caragiale reading society and Curierul Liceului (The High school Courier), from the former “St. Petru and Pavel” high school from Ploieşti. The I. L. Caragiale reading society was founded by Professor Aurelian Moşoiu in 1908 and it worked until 1948. It aimed at promoting an original creation, organizing conferences, publishing and setting up its own library. Among those who performed a rich activity there are: I. A. Bassarabescu, Radu Cosmin, Leonida Secreţeanu. The High school Courier (1907-1948) with Stoica Teodorescu, D. Munteanu-Râmnic, Nicolae Simache as leaders, promoted the youth’s cultural spirituality and the keeping up of the national features; it became one of the most famous publications of this kind from the country. The knowledge of such achievements can turn into a valuable tradition of the Romanian spirituality and education.
