Summary/Abstract: Traian Moşoiu was born in 1868, near Bran, in Transylvania. He graduated from "Andrei Şaguna? High School in Braşov, after he attended military education in Budapest and Viena. He crossed the Carpathians illegally, and in 1893 he enlisted in the Romanian Army. He was promoted step by step in the military hierarchy and in 1917 he became general. He participated in the war for national liberation, he penetrated in Transylvania with his army, in two rounds, for the national freedom of his fellows. At the end of 1918, Traian Moşoiu had the position of Military Governor of Transylvania, in April 1919, was commander in chief of the Northern Army Group which stood out in the military operations at the western border in Romania, and in August 1919 was commander of Budapest Garrison and Military Governor of the territories conquered by the Romanian Army in Hungary. After the end of the war, Traian Moşoiu was involved in the political life, becoming a member of the National Liberal Party, Minister of War, Minister of Public Development, Minister of Communication, and senator. He died in 1932. Through all he achieved he had a great influence on his contemporary society.
