Summary/Abstract: By analysing the different connotations of provincialism and the cultural differences between small and big nations, the author opines that provincialism would be on the agenda of all the important cultural debates, not only as a historical aporia, but also as an exclusively contemporary source of the cultural crisis of today’s world.
