Summary/Abstract: Virgil Vătăşianu's interwar writings about architecture. Virgil Vătăşianu's writings about architecture can be included in the continuous quest for identity that marked all the Rumanian intelectual life of the period between the two World Wars. His efforts are openly orientated to the ideal of "total objectivity", so that he tries "to look into the face of the monuments which are left to speak by themselves". In other words, his method relies upon a minute morphological analysis related to an interpretation based on the rigors of the traditional system of logic.
