Summary/Abstract: The volume Ikoniczność znaku. Słowo – przedmiot – obraz – gest [‘The iconicity of sign. Word – Object – Image – Text’] (edited by E. Tabakowska) comprises analyses of linguistic phenomena, gestures, iconic and verbal-iconic genres (news, comic, signboard). Analyses show various dimensions of iconicity: iconicity of non-verbal communication; iconicity of useable objects; iconicity of book; relations between iconic sign and word. This last aspect prevails in the volume’s content and renders it prevalently semiotic.
