Summary/Abstract: The author presents Konwicki’s novels in the context of the literature of private homelands. Rojsty is situated closer to the works of Józef Mackiewicz; his remaining works are akin to Milosz’s Issa Valley. This proves that the Vilnius region in Konwicki’s writing undergoes a transformation from documentary description (Rojsty) to the poetics of the novel of initiation (Hole in the Sky) and oneiric prose (Contemporary Dreambook, The Anthropos-spectre-beast, Underground River, Underground Birds). And despite their subjective narrative, the author emphasized his distance to the world presented by introducing stand-ins who were decades older than the narrator (Hole in the Sky, Chronicle of love), and by the means by which he tells the stories (Contemporary Dreambook, Chronicle of love, Bohin)
