Summary/Abstract: The market of rural tourism is regarded as the entirety of economic and social relations that occur between the entities which offer products (the supply side) and those which purchase the products (the demand side) in rural areas. The supply side of this market has been widely discussed in the literature and empirical studies and it relates to the amount of goods and services, both physical and non-physical, offered at particular prices. It concerns the activity of the entities of rural tourism and tourist destinations, availability and infrastructure. Furthermore, the demand side of rural tourism, defined by e.g. tourists' needs, scale and requirements for meeting these needs and purchasing power, has not been researched as thoroughly. The aim of the paper is to present the qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the supply side in rural tourism, including agritourism. Regarding the demand side, the paper presents, among other things, the interests in the product of rural tourism, expectations of tourists concerning the equipment and services in accommodation places, price-quality ratio, tourists’ plans concerning the services of relaxing in the country, their preferences for going to the country depending on a voivodeship or a country. The paper has literature-based and empirical character, and was written using a method of analysis of subject literature, analysis of the results obtained from general empirical survey contained in the secondary sources. The participant observation was also used and the non-formalized personal interviews carried out by the authors in the study environment.
