Specifics of educational tourism in protected areas. Case study of Polish National Parks

Summary/Abstract: Nowadays educational and cognitive needs perform more and more vital role in tourism. Expeditions outside make an excellent opportunity to broaden especially children and teenagers’ knowledge about nature, environment, biodiversity as well as history. Protected areas with their natural and cultural heritage have created huge chances in this aspect. The authors of this article, interested and specialized in the issue of protected areas tourism, have made an attempt to identify the essence of educational tourism of Polish national parks and its evaluation. This paper is a part of large-scale research including other protected areas in Poland and abroad.
