Summary/Abstract: The Late Hellenistic period is among the most poorly studied within the borders of the present-day Bulgarian territories. In Northeastern Bulgaria these sites are the settlements at the “Sboryanovo” Archaeological Reserve - Southwestern quarter (close to the town of Isperih, Razgrad district), near the village of Staro selo (Silistra district), near the village of Cherven and Tabachka (Rousse district); cult places on the “St. Athanasius” cape at the village of Byala (Varna district), at the village of Batin, (Scaidava - Rousse district), in Rousse (under the fort of Sexaginta Prista), Strelkovo (Silistra district) and grave tumulus – near village of Asparuhovo (Varna district), Kulnovo (Shoumen district) and village of Brestovitsa, Rousse district. The researches on Sexaginta Prista have been conducted in the 1976-2012 period. Over 1600 sq. m. have been studied. The results have been published recently – at the reached stage of the excavations, the revealed structures are interpreted as a cult complex of hundreds of pits, several fireplaces and stone grounds. There are parallels from the territory of Bulgaria and from Romania, as well as from the territories once inhabited by the Celts. One of the main arguments remains the localization of a temple of the Thracian Horseman and Apollo immediately over the Thracian level.
