Archaeological excavations within the territory of the Roman Fort Sexaginta Prista

Summary/Abstract: The archaeological site is with cultural levels dating from the Hellenistic period to modern times. Remains of two buildings were found above the Thracian level. The votive materials give grounds to identify the apse-building with a temple of Apollo. In the beginning of the 4th century a large building was erected above the ruins of the temple. This building is the principia of Sexaginta Prista.
