Summary/Abstract: The article aims to interpret Witold Wirpsza’s poem Samobójcom [To the Suicides] that refers to the four tragic biographies of the poets: Empedokles, Kleist, Celan and Borowski. The interpretation reveals the structure of the poem that is based on the art of quotation. It develops its full potential here: citation, paraphrase, cryptocitation, deformation and suggested citation. The original meaning of Wirpsza’s poem is created at the point where the texts of the Others – poets and suicides – form a collage plait.
