Summary/Abstract: Social men's movements, the topie of presented article, are described as the third stage of gender movements - social phenomena which arose in United States of America (and in the aftermath in Western Europę and Scandinavia) in the second part of the 20th century. One of the most characteristic features of analyzed phe¬nomena is their high inner diversity. Among men’s movements conservative men’s rights movement as well as profeminists movement can be equally found. In Polish counterparts of men's movements, additional feature is a short period of their existence as well as relatively limited impact on social change. As a result, one of the most problematic issues is defining men's movement as a part of category which contemporary sociology calls ‘social movements’. Therefore, presented article is an attempt of framing Polish men’s movement within several theories of social movement created by Alain Touraine, Alberto Melucci, Claus Offe and Mayer Zald & John McCarthy
