Summary/Abstract: Syntax and punctuation are important in basic school for training skills of correct talking, expressing of ideas and punctuation. Syntax is very important for perceiving normative usage of language phenomena. For this purpose while analyzing syntax and punctuation at basic school it is necessary to look for connections with other categories of language science. Perceiving the normative usage of language phenomena, schoolchildren train their own skills of correct language. In addition, syntax at school is perceived as teaching of word combinations, sentences and text. In this case during the lessons of syntax at basic school foundations are laid both for perceiving the text and creating it. The purpose of this article is to analyze how syntax and punctuation is thought at basic school, discuss the problems of teaching, principles and methods, types of tasks. The object ofthe research is teaching programs, education standards, literature on subject and methodology. The method of the research is an analytical descriptive one.
