Summary/Abstract: The Biblical way towards faith in an eternal life. The Biblical way towards faith in an eternal life became accepted by Hellnistic Judaism under the influence of the contradiction between the promise of a good and blessed life to all who are obedient to the law, and the reality, when the pious lived in poverty or were suppressed by godless people. This prepared the Jewish wise men between the second half of the 3rd century B.C. and the middle of the second to adopt the idea of the immortality of the souls of the just men as it had been spread in Greek-Hellenistic Mysteries. In the New Testament times this faith became judged as justified by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. To bridge the gap between this message and the presence might only happen by an unconditioned delivery to God as the basis of world and existence. The answer to this is not an intellectual one, but the certainty of the eternal presence of God.
