Summary/Abstract: The present article intended to offer a sociological answer at the question: ”What are the opinions of the Romanian journalists about the changes in the Romanian media system which are due to the country’s integration in the UE?” A qualitative set of semi-structured interviews with journalists were used in the analysis and the results showed that there was an unanimity of media’s professionals about the legal and technical aspects of the media’s operations (legal framework, formats, the trend towards local and regional media outlets’ development) and a plurality of needs regarding the European future of various types of media (printed press vs. audiovisual stations and state-owned vs. private enterprises).
