Summary/Abstract: Our study focuses on several methodological rules, specific to specialized translation practice and teaching, in order to find out the linguistic and pragmatic techniques which normally involve the process of translation. For this particular purpose, we take into consideration two major axes of approaching the didactic methods: the comprehension and interpretation of the source text (TO), within its semantic implication, and respectively, the restitution of the original statement in a target text (TM), under new communicative coordinates. No matter what kind of textual level and text typology we reflect on, every result in translation comes out after previous cognitive stages and also documentary and terminological related work. In this respect, in our specialized translation practice we have experienced a number of advances, but also a few difficulties, which were effectively debated with the students. It is true that to translate means to re-formulate a message, according to different communicative parameters, and not just following some methodological rules. Nevertheless, this paper aims to provide evidence that sometimes a concrete theoretical conceptualization could be useful in practice.
