Summary/Abstract: This paper is meant to be a study on the translations of interjections. We consider that interjections are important conveyors of meanings as far as theatre texts are concerned, they prove to be significant constituents of the perception of plays. Our analysis is based on the problems that appear when providing the Polish translation of the English interjection “Ay”.
