Ways of phrase development in Bosnian-Herzegovinian press

Summary/Abstract: This paper has shown various possible ways of phrase development in Bosnian press. Evidently, from the aspect of semantics, phrases most frequently come into existence through metaphor and metonymy, and significantly less through: comparison, personification, hyperbola, antonomasia and euphemism. Press material is very convenient and brings to light different phraseology processes, because it enables the researcher to follow the decreasing frequency of use of certain phrases in time, and their replacement by new, up-to-date phrases. Such phrases corresponding to new political, social and cultural reality are the topic of this research paper.
