Challenges for career coUnseling in conditions of social changes

Summary/Abstract: The role of career counseling increases its significance in the dynamic and high competitive social context. Economic and social changes on their hand are related to a new specificity concerning the process of attaining and maintaining the professional identity. Authors have outlined the basic dimensions of these changes both on global level and for Bulgaria in particular. On this basis they propose modifications tailored to the specific context both on educational system level and particularized to the career consultants. Special accent is given to the need of change of the career counseling framework and prioritizing promotion of the subjective well-being. General objective is career and professional counseling to facilitate attaining and maintaining flexible and adaptive professional identity and high levels of subjective well-being.
