The Perspectives Of The Outer-Ile

Summary/Abstract: In the study on poetic self and puns with Mallarmé (Je poétique et jeu de langage chez Mallarmé, 1995), in order to identify the isotopic series in the poem “Le Cygne” by Mallarmé, we suggested three figurative spaces: an inner space, an outer space and a meta-discursive space. These spaces have been devised starting from the connection between poetic self and discursive self. This article aims to discuss the role of verbal forms in constructing a coherent discourse through the identification, in the same poem, of the relative positions of these spaces on the time line.
