Summary/Abstract: Not far from my home there was an old – you might say – worn out castle: a wooden one like those in which our ancestors lived with such wonderful resolve, for their Croatia, tormented so much from all sides, awaiting the hour of heath, “Pro deo et patria”. For a long time – since I was a child – I loved to go down to that Godforsaken corner, under that old roof or – as it was called proudly in the old chronicles – the manor house of nobilitaris Brezovytza. And it was in every sense unusual.
