Politics in its ties with religion

Summary/Abstract: The peculiar aspect of the European post-socialist countries’ transitional context is the relationship between religious communities and politics. In the number of the scholarly works that very nexus (of religion and politics) have been accentuated as a key social determinant of the process of transition. But unlike the other countries of Eastern and Central Europe, religion and religiosity acquired attributes of outstanding political factors in the countries of former Yugoslavia (Bosnia and Herzegovina in particular), while at the same time politics is being reshaped as an exceptional religious fact.
