Summary/Abstract: The Cult Silver Objects Treasure of the C.A. Curch in Sibiu. The asset registers of the parish Church „St. Maria” in Sibiu, preserved in fragments, reflects an impressive number of ecclesiaistical vessels used during the pompous divine services before Reformation. Only some silverworks from the rich treasury of the Sibian Church survived the troubled times of the Reformation, when many of the ecclesiastical vessels, which had become redundant, were melted with the purpose of recovering the precious metals to coin money. The liturgical silverware was the creation of local goldsmiths – as seen in different documentary sources or material evidence –, as special commissions of or for the parish Church in Sibiu. The current study focuses on the correlation between the data archive and the description of the preserved liturgical silverware in order to recreate the virtual image of the famous treasury of the parish Church in Sibiu.
