Summary/Abstract: This study is intended as an overview of the approach towards the manner in which the representatives of the Romanian Orthodox Church from the Transylvanian area approached the impact of law article XXXVI from 1908 regarding juvenile delinquency within the Romanian elite and the entire society, for that matter. The most comprehensive presentation of the newly formed institution – the school patronage – was made by the denomination school principle from Zărneşti (Braşov Deanery), Pompiliu Dan, during a school conference held in 1912 and published in The Transylvanian Gazette. Romanian society had to respond similarly to the numerous Hungarian charity societies of the empire, by demonstrating a strong concern with the young generation, which did not benefit of every possible effort for its moral consolidation. Especially teachers were considered capable of a tirelessly activity, including even a statistic regarding the juvenile delinquency rate in the Transylvanian area.
