Summary/Abstract: The article analyzes the fusion between political groups which declared to be in favor of the peasants’ interests after 1945, the Ploughmen Front and the National Peasant Party – Anton Alexandrescu. Both political organizations were qualified by the Romanian historiography as “comrades” of the Romanian Communist Party, with an important role, but different, in the communization process. The article starts with a short evolution of the two groups, mainly analyzing the group led by Anton Alexandrescu, because it is less known by the Romanian historiography. The fusion, more precisely the merger of Alexandrescu’s group with the Ploughmen Front, happened in climax of the communist power, and they did not need help anymore or agents in order to penetrate into the rural world. Also, the moment of the fusion was not accidentally chosen, it foresaw the union of “workers” party, the Romanian Communist Party and the Social-Democratic Party (Romania). The main source of this scientific enterprise is based on archive documents, especially on personal fund of Anton Alexandrescu which is deposited at the Romanian National Archives, on the articles published in the official newspapers of both groups, „Dreptatea nouă” (“New Justice”) and „Frontul Plugarilor” (“The Ploughmen Front”), as well as on the existent bibliography
