Protection of intellectual property rights and restricting access to Internet

Summary/Abstract: The article underlines the importance of the protection of intellectual property rights which encourage the development of the culture and the economy. In this context the author focuses on the new challenges to these rights determined by the internet that create a new tension between their protection and the right of the people to access to internet. This tension in more evident after the incorporation of a new European regulation that guarantee the right to internet as an application of the fundamental rights of the person, regulation which should be adopted by Romania till may 2011.
