Summary/Abstract: The cohabitation of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy’s nations led to numerous mutual borrowings of foreign words. The main themes of the loan words are relating to handcraft, military, nutrition and religion. Till now, I have held at different scientific meetings in Hungary as well as abroad several lectures on the terminology of military and religion in our Central European languages. My present work is focusing on gastronomy related expressions.
