Summary/Abstract: The author examines the chat language (CL) based on the texts he has created with his Czech friends in the last two years. The main objectives of the analysis are as follows: 1) orthography of the CL; 2) vocabulary of the CL, 2.1 expressive words and interjections, 2.2 loanwords, 2.3 clipped words and acronyms; 3) nonverbal communication in the CL; 4) comparison and play on words in the CL.
