Summary/Abstract: Lubelskie Voivodeship is a province of Poland which has little significance of foreign trade in its regional economy. The analysis of the data within the period of 2000-2008 indicates that despite a growing value of trade the voivodeship’s share in entire trade of Poland lowered. Lubelskie Voivodeship has significantly lower levels of such indicators as: exports’ share in GDP and in production sold, trade per capita and share of foreign enterprises in trade. A characteristic feature of a trade’s geographical breakdown is a relatively high share in exports on such markets as: Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. An important role is also played by non-registered border-trade undertaken by neighboring states’ citizens. A trade breakdown by product is strongly connected to the specificity of the voivodeship’s economy. Agricultural products constitute almost 25% of regional exports. An analysis of tendencies indicates that basing on endogenous factors there is no fast possibility of change of the current situation in coming years.
