China’s outward foreign direct investments – the newest trends

Summary/Abstract: China has achieved a remarkable success in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) since the early 90s. and therefore it has become one of the largest FDI recipients in the world. The amount of investments has enabled China to achieve a strong and steady economic growth, which is a phenomenon on the world scale. One especially interesting characteristics of China’s development path is a recent surge in its outward FDI. The purpose of this article is to present the characteristics of China’s outward foreign direct investments: its size and composition, target locations, motives of investments and important players.
