Assessment of Future Guidelines for Regulatory Policy on the Basis of Technical and Managerial Analysis of Broadband Penetration

Summary/Abstract: The article provides an analysis of the concept of broadband per se. The analysis of the main technologies enabling to provide broadband services is presented in the article. Special attention is given to the retrieval of factors possibly influencing the penetration of broadband in Europe. There are defined main implications, stemming from the techno-economic analysis, for regulatory policy. The techno-managerial article is of practical nature and the information provided here as well as the results of our research may be useful for regulatory researchers and practitioners and specialists of electronic communications business. Contribution of both authors to the article is equal.
