The Image of the Family in the Light of Existing Criminological Studies

Summary/Abstract: The paper presents an overview of studies on the family and its functioning from the perspective of the interplay between the family life and delinquency. It discusses studies on the family environment as an essential factor in the onset of delinquency and social maladjustment, criminological studies on delinquency causes among minors and juveniles as well as criminological studies focusing on family factors in the genesis of crime among minors and juveniles. The paper ends with the conclusions of the results of research carried out so far, and the suggestions for further scientific exploration.
