The problem of Europe imitation in the discussions of Russian intelligentsia members of the 19th century

Summary/Abstract: The article deals with the problem of Europe imitation in the works of Russian publicists and public figures of the 19th century. The problem did not become less actual during the whole 19th century and was the reflection of separate elements of different public discussions: about intelligentsia’s patriotism, about the ways of the country’s development, about the role of intelligentsia in the modernization of Russian society.
