Summary/Abstract: The Contribution of Sections, Editorial Units and Genres to the Definition of the Profile of the French Daily Newspaper Libération. This paper proposes an analysis of the contribution of the different sections, editorial units and genres that organize the information in the French daily newspaper Libération to defining its profile. Due to its dynamism in organizing the front page, to the great variety of sections and genres, to its preference for broad articles belonging to the so-called “noble genres” and for sets of articles dealing with the same topic, to the importance it gives to the image (photos, caricatures) and to a particular event, Libération appears to be a sort of “form in progress”, multiple and changing, just like current events.
