Peculiarities of Human Resources Recruitment and Selection Trends in Šiauliai City Education Sector

Summary/Abstract: The object of the research is Šiauliai city education sector, its personnel opinion survey of the procedure and methods of personnel recruitment and selection. The main aim is to find out opinions of the education sector personnel on the system of human resources recruitment and selection. Various scientific works and literature, material from the Internet and mass media were used for the analysis. A written questionnaire was administered. Date analysis was made using MS EXCEL program. It included 115 employees from Šiauliai city education sector: schools, kindergartens, colleges and University. Study findings: the main ways and methods of personnel recruitment and selection possibly useful for other institutions and organizations were surveyed. The main ways of recruitment in education sector are: recommendations, offers by the manager of the organization and qualification. An ability to communicate, self – confidence, optimism, personal qualities, analytical thinking, administrative and managerial skills are priority factors for getting a job in education sector. Study results could be used to optimize the system of human resources recruitment and selection in education sector.
