From Europe to the Europeans and Beyond: A Study of European Identity Using Biographical Methods

Summary/Abstract: The authors highlight how the autobiographical extempore interview can contribute to the problematization and empirical study of the evolution of European identity. The article is based on the results of the international Euro Identities Project and demonstrates the contribution of the micro research (qualitative) perspective on the considerable bottom-up substantiation of the „European project“ through analysis of the concrete biographical experience of real people in their contacts with Europe and the EU.
