Summary/Abstract: The scientific undertaking represents a synthetic examination of the main aspects regarding the control of constitutionality. From the historical point of view, it was enforced in Romania through judicial channels by the well-known tramway lawsuit (1911-1912). It was subject to a conceptual evolution, one related to the functions, one related to the institutions, and one subject to decisions. From the constitutional point of view, substantiated proposals are made regarding the entry of alternate judges, concerning the duties, the procedures.
