Political System and Political Socialization

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses political socialization theory with the aim to formulate the main principles of survey study in the field in Bulgaria. The process of intergenerational reproduction of political communities and political behavior patterns in society is impossible without the functions of political socialization in any political system. There is a principle similarity between the functional influence that political system exerts on political communities and the same influence of political system on preadult generations. In the process of socialization young generations acquire civil roles and political norms and values, due to which they can be mobilized, so that certain political goals can be achieved. The result is young generations' integration in existing political system. Political socialization of young generations is part of legitimization process of the actual political regime.
