Summary/Abstract: The author studies the experience of interaction of Russian Orthodox Church and intelligentsia in the 70-s — beginning of the 90-s of the 20th cen-tury in the conditions of gradually weakening governmental atheism. The important place in the article is given to the analysis of social and legal con-ditions of activity of religiously tuned members of intelligentsia in a country. The author takes into account the thoughts and estimations of researchers on the given subject
