AUSTERITY IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES OF THE WORLD*

Summary/Abstract: This paper presents the economic situation of twelve countries of the world (the USA, Russia, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Hungary, Latvia, and Ireland) in the context of the world economic crisis. Are analyzed the measures adopted by each of these states and the effects of those particular measures on the economies. One of the common austerity measures – for the analyzed states – is the reduction of public expenses.
