Summary/Abstract: In a paper for the 1910 Masaryk Jubilee Proceedings, Masaryk’s Slovak pupil and later Czechoslovak minister Vavro Šrobár wrote about their meeting in 1897.1 Šrobár and other progressive Slovak nationalists visited Masaryk at his summer apartment in Bystrièka, Upper Hungary, to discuss with him the content of a new magazine that they intended to start publishing. The main point was to be the fight against Magyarization and against the economic exploitation of Hungarian Slovaks.
