Summary/Abstract: The names and attributes of the divine are tightly connected to the issue of knowing God, a constant concern in the poetry of Lucian Blaga. The names of God refer to His manifestations in the world and express human capacity of perception. His features and attributes are gradually revealed as we become capable of assuming them. Blaga’s poetry is obviously of Biblical inspiration. The poet remains, in the poetic testimonials, within the theological truth of the Holy Bible and of the Holy Fathers. The author analyses from the perspective of the poet Lucian Blaga some of the attributes of the divine: the hidden / the uncomprised, the eternal, the merciful, the fact that God is love; He is holy, good and just.
