Dispute settlement in the international environmental regime and climate change

Summary/Abstract: INTERNATIONAL LAW // Dispute settlement procedures have been analysed from the perspective of the current international environmental law. The conclusion is that there is a tendency towards the institutionalisation and internalisation of dispute management processes within concrete treaty regimes. The author holds that it is possible to define an objective standard for the prevention of climate change damage, something which would depend to a great extent upon the corresponding capacity of each state to prevent harm.
